On Xerxes' Throne
Overview
In a dystopian Perama shipyard, physical contact is forbidden, reducing human connection to eerie simulations. This suppression of touch has fractured workers' communication, turning the boatyard into a tense realm of alienation and stifled desire that defies conventional heteronormative boundaries. Local lore holds that Persian King Xerxes once sat enthroned on Mount Egaleo's rocky heights—now part of Perama—and witnessed the crushing defeat of his fleet.
