Episode Overview

Kousei and Kaori decide to enter a piano competition together. During their performance, Kaori suddenly collapses and is rushed to the hospital. At the same time, Kousei learns that his mother has passed away, leaving him devastated. He gives up piano entirely, believing he can no longer hear the notes. Two years later, Kousei, now a high school student, has abandoned music and lives a dull, colorless life. Everything changes when he meets Kaori, a free-spirited violinist who challenges him to play piano again.
