Pubs, Ponds and Power: The Story of the Village S01E02 - South

Episode Overview

Milton Abbas in Dorset embodies the quintessential image of a charming English village. However, archaeologist Ben Robinson uncovers a darker history tied to one man's affluence and influence. Collaborating with local historians, Ben discovers how an 18th-century landowner decimated a neighboring town, displacing its inhabitants merely to preserve the view from his residence. This drastic change to the landscape led to the creation of a new village, designed to enhance his grand estate.
