Episode Overview

At a lavish launch party, Richard and his programmer pals—Big Head, Dinesh, and Gilfoyle—envision striking it rich. They're currently residing in the Hacker Hostel, a communal space run by former coder Erlich, who takes ten percent of their inventions. When Richard unveils a groundbreaking compression algorithm for his startup, Pied Piper, he attracts the attention of his arrogant boss, Gavin Belson, who proposes a $10 million buyout from Hooli. However, Richard hesitates when renowned investor Peter Gregory steps in with a competing offer.
