S01E07 Henry VIII – River Wear
Episode Overview
In the seventh episode, Rick and Beau navigate the breathtaking River Wear, which serves as a natural shield for the historic city of Durham and its revered Cathedral. This site is steeped in history, notably when Henry VIII claimed control of the Church in the 1500s, leading to the desecration of the Cathedral’s shrines. Accompanied by Archaeologist Gary Bankhead, the duo uncovers artefacts that trace back to the 1200s during Edward I’s reign, illuminating the rich heritage of Durham.
