Overview
In the late 19th century, the brilliant but socially inept engineer Sorano Appare and the clever yet timid samurai Isshiki Kosame are stranded at sea between Japan and America. Penniless, they enter the Trans-America Wild Race, hoping the prize money will fund their journey home. Piloting a steam-powered car of their own design, they face rivals, outlaws, and the perils of the wilderness while racing across America—from Los Angeles to New York.
