Unbeknownst to her, Mary Ann catches wind of their conversation and, in a panic, thinks she has been poisoned by the mushrooms she consumed, believing she only has a limited time to live. This leads to a humorous dream sequence where the Professor adopts a Cary Grant-like demeanor, adding to the comedy of the situation.
