Christine comes back to her childhood home only to encounter her mother, who has grown emotionally distant and withdrawn from the world. As Christine navigates this unsettling reunion, she uncovers that her mother has conjured up a vision of Chrissie—Christine as a little girl, before she left to forge her own path. Faced with this idealized version of herself, Christine realizes that she stands no chance of measuring up to her mother's nostalgic memories.
