When Joyce Barnaby becomes trapped in a collapsed canal tunnel, the discovery of seven skeletons in a concealed chamber ensues. Concurrently, the shooting deaths of two local troublemakers in Midsomer Worthy lead to the arrest of a homeless man named Tom. While Troy investigates these murders, Barnaby delves into an unresolved case. Among the ancient skeletons uncovered, one stands out as surprisingly recent.
