Episode Overview

The series kicks off with Beverly, Naomi's mother, who decides to undergo weight loss surgery in a final effort to change her life and motivate her daughter, niece, and nephew to follow suit. As Naomi assists her mother during the recovery process, she witnesses the serious complications that can arise, but her desire to start a family drives her forward. Meanwhile, cousin Drew struggles to accept the extent of his food addiction, which he must confront before considering surgery. Lastly, cousin Chitoka, who has been confined to her bed for over three years due to her obesity, needs to take her first steps toward recovery to become eligible for surgery.
