Nancy reveals herself to be even more troublesome than Nellie, going so far as to imprison another student in the ice house. The other children band together to teach her a lesson, setting a trap that leads Nancy to become the main attraction in a dunk tank. Meanwhile, Adam and Mary relocate to New York in search of new opportunities, and Hester Sue arrives in Walnut Grove to take a position at the local restaurant.
