S04E05 Reports of Damage & Loss
Episode Overview
Mount Thomas is experiencing a downpour, and Nick and Adam are late returning from their patrol. When they finally show up, they're soaked and their uniforms are torn. The other Heelers are left in the dark about what happened until Tom prompts them to share their ordeal, leading Adam to break down in tears. While Dash tries to coax the details out of Adam, Nick slips away to change, retreating into himself due to shock, making it hard to uncover the full story. Adam reveals that their troubles began when they tried to save a young girl trapped in a flooded stormwater drain. As Nick clung to her to prevent her from being swept away, he sent Adam for assistance. However, Adam soon faced his own emergency involving the girl’s sister and couldn’t return in time. As the Heelers piece together the events, they realize that Nick, worn down by exhaustion, ultimately had to let the girl go. Back at the station, feelings of guilt and anger start to surface.
