Jamie is in the hospital, with Recall and Laura anxiously watching over him. Meanwhile, Patti is frustrated with the house Geoff has rented, insisting on a larger place to flaunt. Billy convinces George to join a boxing match, and the guys play a prank on newcomer Sally, making her believe the pump has been stolen, prompting her to rush to the nearest police station. However, she turns the tables when a police car pulls over the fire appliance, questioning Hallam and the crew about the supposed theft. Sally steps out of the police car, revealing she got them back. Sandra is less than thrilled when the Pearces drop by uninvited for tea, just as Jean arrives. Unbeknownst to Patti, who is eavesdropping, Jean confides in Sandra about her plans to leave Bert due to his cheating.
