In the affluent suburb of Potomac, MD, Ruth Ann Aron, a driven real estate mogul with dreams of a political career, was married to a well-regarded urologist. In 1994, she sought the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate but faced defeat, largely due to a local lawyer who relentlessly pursued her with claims of unethical business practices.
