Klepper S01E07 - America First, Mars Next

Episode Overview

Jordan takes a trip to the front lines of America’s latest space endeavors and feels disheartened by how much things have changed. As a child, he admired NASA’s remarkable achievements, from the Apollo missions to shuttle launches at Cape Canaveral, not to mention freeze-dried ice cream. Now, the landscape is marred by cumbersome bureaucracy, private billionaire-run spaceports, and reliance on Russia for trips into space. Yet, there’s a glimmer of hope: a social media-savvy teenager in Florida and a cantankerous astronaut in Houston are planning a bold moon mission, with Jordan’s strongest supporter potentially being the President of the United States.
