As winter descends upon the South Pole, a dedicated group called the Winterers stays behind at the Polaris VI Antarctic Research Station to carry on their groundbreaking research, vital in the battle against climate change. When Johan Berg comes back to the base after the season, he discovers that most of the team has either perished or vanished. The only survivor left at the station is Maggie.
