Overview

Simin, an Iranian immigrant, embarks on a quest to understand true freedom in America. Employed by the Census Bureau, she becomes involved in a controversial initiative that aims to document citizens' dreams as a means of surveillance. As Simin records the aspirations of others, she grapples with her empathy for those she surveys and the deeper truths about her own identity and desires. Caught between compassion and the unsettling motives behind her work, she searches for meaning in a world where dreams can be both revealing and manipulated.
